"This company made my old hardwood floors beautiful. Even though my floors were pretty rough and needed some repairs, the quality of work and care taken gave my floors an original look despite a few battle scars. They were very professional and discussed the project with me throughout the process. They were also cheerful and positive as they worked. I do recommend this company."

"I first hired Mr. McGrew for a problem with a severe water leak at my back door. Several attempts to fix it had failed, including a contractor who swore that replacing the engineered wood siding with Hardie board would do the trick. I solicited 3 contractors to fix it: one quoted me $800 for a new frame and door, another quoted me $450 for I-don't-recall-what-exactly, and Mr. McGrew quoted me $50 to apply 2300 sealant along the outside. At first I figured $50 was too good to be true; since we probably needed a new frame and door anyway, I left a message with the contractor who wanted to do a full replacement, but he never replied. (!!!) I then decided to try Mr. McGrew. He came soon after, applied the sealant... and that actually fixed the thing! Since then, Mr. McGrew has performed several jobs a bit too big for me to do on my own: removed laminate flooring, replaced my carport walls, enclosed the carport so we had a new room, removed more laminate flooring, installed gutters, replaced our porch columns, repaired a toilet leaking from the bottom, repaired drywall in two different places, and a number of other jobs besides. Almost everything is done right the first time. What isn't, is due to people he has brought along, people he is training -- typically friends and family he is helping out, such as his son or his daughter's boyfriend -- and who therefore aren't quite as skilled. In cases like this, Mr. McGrew always returns to inspect and repair anything that isn't right. (I can only remember 2 or 3 minor issues among the many jobs he's done for me.) Mr. McGrew is my go-to man for jobs like these, and I am always satisfied. He is polite, listens carefully, and even sends bids written up professionally with software. When he can't do something properly, he admits it and refers me to someone (plumber, exterminator). When it's an easy enough job, he will suggest a course of action I can do myself, AND IT WORKS: for instance, his recommendation to use Jomax to eliminate mildew around the house. I almost chose 4 stars instead of 5, because he is sometimes so busy that it is hard to catch up with him. Usually he replies within minutes or hours, but there have been a couple of occasions where we've had to wait a couple of weeks. Because of this, we did once consider inquiring with another contractor. However, stars should reflect the quality of the work a man does, and if Mr. McGrew's in high demand, we can't be the only ones who think highly of his work, so a 5-star review it is. I look forward to hiring him again!"
